Baby minding - Petite Maman

Autumn has really hit us over here in Finland, rain after rain.
Well what could be a better stitching weather, only thing is that the cold and damp makes my poor shoulder and neck also more stiff and more painful but hey that's what painkillers are for.

I finally managed to actually even finish one of my crazies, yay me!!!
It is a DMC kit going by the name of Baby Minding - Petite Maman from the All Our Yesterdays- series.
I believe I got this kit from my dear friend Lumiruusu

Here the finished piece is pictured as appropriate with my teddies as the little lady has in her pram her prides and joys, her beloved teddies.

My boys are called Lobo (the white), Tomi (the brown) and Boy. 

Last weekend I knitted two pairs of handwarmers for a dear friend. Unfortunately I have only one pic of them, hopefully can soon get some better pictures of them. Both are knitted with nro3 bamboo with Novita Seitsemän Veljestä yarn.

My modest stash has been growing a bit lately since I found few nice places especially from FB to buy things from my stitching friends. All these, and few more, I have bought within past 2 months.

Hey, if any of you have patterns of The Sunflower Seed, Primitive Traditions or Homespun Elegance that they don't require any more, please contact me privately?? =)

CCN Tea Room, RTO Pair of Sweethearts and Isa Vautier Coeur de Hardanger

I finally managed to finish the Tea Room by CCN and sewed it as planned on a teapot cosy by 

Impie, Hattie &Bea. I do like the end result a lot. 

Fabric: raw linen 28count
Threads: DMC, with a bit alternation to original thread plan

The final back stitches on the RTO design Pair of Sweethearts have been done. I stitched this one for a friend. Not sure how she will end up finishing it but probably she will frame it.

I finished the Isa Vautier Coeur de Hardanger with attaching beads on it. Now it represents hardanger, cross stitch and beadwork all in the same piece. This one was part of my crazies and it was given as a present from Outi last year in our Christmas swap, waiting already anxiously for this years swap!!

Welcome

Yes, welcome back to my blog. Like my yesterday's posting said: miracles happen. I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting anything here lately. Just lost totally my interest in stitching and lot of things kept happening IRL.
Slowly but surely I'm back to my very dear hobby and to you all lovely blogging, crafting friends.
Lots of my latest crafts have been small and easy ones, mainly by Lizzie Kate, just to give me a slow start =)
Few of my finishes are from Crazies, so I'm still hanging on the challenge.

I got the subscription of WOCS as Christmas present and one of the finishes is from WOCS, issue 188. Little freebie, Home Sweet Home designed by one of my favs Joan Elliott. It hangs on my door now. All the mats used on it are from freebie package.

This lovely piece from Lizzie Kate was something that I had wanted to stitch for some time. Suitable welcome sign for a dog person. Stitched on evenweave with DMC threads.

Kiitokset ihanat blogi ystäväni kauniista sanoistanne! Kuten näkyy, neula on kyllä alkanut viuhua, joten yritän nyt päivitellä ainakin käsitöitäni tänne. Neiti koira voi hyvin, harkitsen barffausta ja odotan innolla uutta Oster trimmeria, jotta voin aloittaa neidin trimmauksen itse. Neiti näyttää tällä hetkellä kaikkea muuta paitsi neidiltä, kuten omistajansakin, vähän on resuunnuttu :P

Miracles Happen

Toden totta! Ihmeitä todella tapahtuu ja minäkin vihdoin viimein löysin pitkän ja pimeän talven jälkeen tieni takaisin blogi-maailman valoon. Talvi on ollut tammikuusta lähtien enemmän ja vähemmän vaivalloinen, mieliala oli melkoisen musta, elämässä myllersi ja oikea leikattu olkapää kipuili enemmän kuin laki salli. Edelleen menee sekä kipukääkkeitä että relaksantteja enemmän kuin toivoisin, pahimillaan jouduin käyttämään jopa niskatukea. Rakas pistely harrastus oli pitkän aikaa täysin katkolla. Viimeisen kuukauden aikana olen vihdoin viimein saanut taas kärpäsen puraisun ja nyt palailen jälleen teidän pariinne tuomaan julki kätteni tuotantoa.
Montaa teistä olen kovasti kaivannut ja aina silloin tällöin käynyt vilkuilemassa kirjoituksianne ja ihailemassa/kuolaamassa ihanuuksien perään :D

Nyt muutama valmistunut työ.
Ensiksi otsikon mukaisesti Miracles Happen. Kankaana eve ja lankoina DMC, malli Lizzie Kate, kiitos Niinan Ilmattaren Ihmemaailmasta. Suurin osa tekeleistä on pistelty, mutta viimeistelemättömiä.

Spring Cottage Lizzie Katelta tuli pisteltyä käsinvärjätylle tilatulle aidalle, DMC:n langoilla. Kehykset ostettu Anttilan alesta aikoinaan. Kuvauspaikkana keväinen aurinkoinen parveke. Sinne siirryn kera läppärin pistelemään.

Hop Squared mallin Lizzie Katelta pistelin itse värjäämälleni aidalle. Wylers aineet sain Vilmalta, ja itse värjäys kävi kuin leikkiä vain. =)
Lopputulos on ihanan karkkimainen, kävisi somasti johonkin lastenhuoneeseen tämä.

Tämä Bent Creekin suloinen Spring malli menettää mielestäni osan suloisuuttaan DMC:n langoilla toteutettuna. Tai sitten se on vain enemmän sellainen valmiiksi "vanhan" oloinen.

Spring Abc's jälleen yksi pieni yksinkertainen Lizzie Katen malli. Näiden pienien ja sievien töiden myötä oli helpompi palata ja olla itselleen armollinen, kun näki silmissään työn etenevän vauhdilla.

Follow Your Heart, lisää Lizzie Katea ja ainakin tämä näistä oli myös yksi tammikuun hassutuksista.
Ei en ole unohtanut totaalisesti myöskään hassutuksia!!

Few new beginnings

Thank you all for your lovely comments! And hope you are all doing well. Here we are having lots of snow and around -10C. So winter has really arrived :)
Have had few new beginnings on my crazies. I know it is a bit late but I guess better later than never.

First the blue kitchen clock, a design by Joan Elliott. The design was in a leaflet that came years ago with Cross Stitch Quick and Easy called 101 Best ever Christmas gift charts. I was looking at it last year and really wanted to do the clock but the design was a bit unclear, so I contacted Joan Elliott via email and got the design from her!! Lucky me :)
And as many of you know I'm not a huge fan of blue so the finished piece will probably go somewhere else. But just loved the design and wanted to do it!

Another new start is a DMC kit that I recently received from my very good blogging friend Maija (kiitokset taas sinulle <3). The colors of this kit are sort of cold side but yet I do like them as they remind me of the really old samplers. I might be doing another sampler later this year also.
This Traditional Sampler stitches very fast and in my opinion is nothing but the described advanced, it should be classified as moderate if not even easy.

I have also started to stitch a Margaret Sherry design. I'm stitching it on piece of aida I dyed myself recently. It is a cow with balloon. The picture is sideways and there are very few stitches on it, well it is not a huge design either, =)

A late update on crazies

Sorry for not updating my blog for a such long time. My right shoulder that was op'd 2010 autumn has been giving me some real difficulties. And when you are right handed with a problem in your right hand, it can make things difficult.


So start no 8 is Maria Diaz's amazing Poppy, from Cross Stitcher 204. Stitching it on cotton, not stitching material but with countable threads with DMC.

No9 is Lizzi Kate's Follow your heart, thank you Niina, :)
Stitched on evenweave with DMC threads

No 10 is Lizzie Kate's You Have Stolen My Heart, again Niina thank you, :)
And stitched on evenweave from Dovestitch with DMC.

No11 is Contemporary Cuckoo Clock from WOCS 181.
Stitched on white 16 count aida, with DMC.

Thanks to Maija my stash went recently crazy... And my list of crazies too =)

Pari sanaa suomeksi, hassutusten kanssa on käynyt hassusti, kiukuttelava olka ei oikein anna tehdä paljoa. Koko nainen on ihan jumissa suoraan sanottuna. Nutrauksessa lähti käyntiin kolmas viikko, farkut tippuvat ja olen koko ajan tyytyväisempi itseeni. Paljon on kuitenkin vielä tehtävää!!

Starts 3-7

First one to show is a mystery one. So not much explanations on that one. Just something stitched on linen over one thread.

Second is the gift from Maija. Even sorting the threads for this one took time. And I can see it will take a lot of time and effort to finish but will be worth it!! Design is called: Rose Garden Cuttings, and is Dimensions kit.

This one stitches quite fast actually. What I'm afraid is how the hardanger stitches will turn out to be.

Few stitches gone also on one of my SAL's, hey Maria and Vilma, so it will also start to progress further.

Second start: Oh God....

My second start of the crazies was of my actual list.... I know, it's hard for me to keep my mind.
So today's start was from Cross Stitcher May 2011 Diane Machin's Words of Wisdom, inspired by Keep calm.
I started stitching on aida that I dyed yesterday with DMC B5200 the model:
"God, make me good but not yet".

I will probably stitch two other designs from the serie too. "Cross Stitch and Be Happy" and
"Life Is Short so Eat Dessert First"
Tomorrow I will try to stick on my original list.....

Crazy January start and Wyler's testing

I decided to begin my Crazy January with Lanarte's Weekender : Dogs, which I received from Kirsi last week. Thank you Kirsi once again. <3

And not so long ago I received from dear friend Vilma in the USA some packages of Wyler's
Now I have done some experiments with them and here you can see the aida clothes dyed with Wyler's. And all the house smell now caramel like =)
For these have used "Electric Grape"(purple or brownish...), "Cherry Charger"(kind of reddish, hoped to be more pink) and "Berry Jammer" (lovely shades of blue and turqoise).
And pictures don't show the colors as vibrant as they are!! Thank you again Vilma!! <3
