Gingerbreadman decorating the tree

Oh yay me!!
Finally managed to finish one of the decorations I've been working long time on. Would have never guessed that stitching on perforated paper is so difficult. Well in fact the stitching itself wasn't difficult but the needle kept dropping, *sighs*. So it was rather time consuming. And I have yet another ornie to finish as well..
Instead of using perforated paper on backing as well as instructed I used metal paper to add a bit of shine.

The ornament is Gingerbread Friend from An Elf Babies Collection by Brooke's Books, stitched on perforated paper, using recommended DMC threads and the beads that came with the kit.
Oh, it differs from the original with missing the hat which i didn't like :D

In recent copy of The World of Cross Stitching there came a freebie gift from a new, well not a new since they have all sorts of things in paper crafting, designer. I just had to stitch the little cutie!
I stitched it on patterned shiny linen by Dovestitches. so the blue things you can see on the fabric are not stains but snowflakes or stars. I used the yarns recommended on the design except for metallics I used Anchor's silver metal thread and the silver French knots I substituted with DMC metallic beads, color 647.
As a finishing I attached it on a pillow cover that I made for this purpose. With the help of a friend the finishing was left to be a bit of rustic and the fraying of fabric is seen.

Birthday exchange - Blue Christmas

Tämän vuoden viimeinen synttärivaihto lähti viime viikolla Jaanalle. Tiesin hänestä kovin vähän, joten aluksi tämän kokoaminen meinasi olla hieman vaikeaa. Tiesin että hän pitää sinisestä ja joulusta, ja siitä se ajatus sitten lähti.

Pistelin Jaanalle The World of Cross Stitching lehdestä vuodelta 2007 löytyneestä jouluisten kukkien triosta jouluruusun. Kaikessa valkeudessaan se oli mielestäni niin kovin elegantti ja väreineen sopii niin hyvin sekä syksyyn että talveen, eikä vain yksin jouluun. Hetkihän siinä pistellessä meni, sillä kankaana käyttämäni tummansininen aida oli kovin kovin tummaa, vähänkään huonommassa valossa ei hommasta meinannut tulla mitään. Itse ruusun ympärillä olevan kehyksen pistelin Madeiran hopeanvärisellä kimaltevalla Decora-langalla (ohjeessa käytetty Anchorin Reflectaa).

Viimeistelin pistelyn flatfoldiksi, taustakankaaksi sinistä jouluista kangasta ja ympärille nauha kauniisti rusetille.

Pistin pakettiin mukaan myös omatekemäni kortin, jossa toistui hillitymmin sama ruusu. Kun sain vielä käsiini Dimensionsin Candlelit Noel kitin, jota ei enää valmisteta, oli paketti mielestäni valmis!

This blue Christmas Rose flatfold went in an exchange to a cross stitching friend Jaana. I loved Susan Bates's floral trio and was happy that could finally make one of the flowers to someone. Actually might even do one for myself, now I do surprise myself since I really don't care that much of color blue, but even I have to admit that the blue fabric gave this piece of work a bit of luxury.
The design came from year 2007 WOCS.
I sent her as well a discontinued Dimensions Candlelit Noel kit and a birthday card made by myself from Christmas rose cardboard.

Best Of Friends

Aurinko lämmittää jo mukavasti ja luonnollista pistelyvaloa riittää pitkään iltaan. Viimeisin aloitettu pistely ja nyt myö valmistunut työ on aina niin iki ihana Nalle Puh. Wocs:n nrossa 189 oli ihastuttava Disneyn malli, jossa reippaat ystävykset Puh ja Nasu lekottelivat vieri vieressä. Ohjeesta poiketen pistelin tämän mallin Dovestitchin käsinvärjätylle evelle, se kun mielestäni sopi malliin paremmin kuin puhtaan valkoinen aida.
En oikein meinannut saada onnistunutta kuvaa työstä, joten tässä kaksi eri kuvaa samasta työstä.

Lehtikokoelmani täydentyi maanantaina Englannista tilaamillani  Cross Stitch Favourites lehdillä. Lehdistä löytyi myös muutama minulle vieras malli, suurimmaksi osaksi mallit tuntuivat tutuilta aiemmin ilmestyneistä WOCS:sta.

A late update on crazies

Sorry for not updating my blog for a such long time. My right shoulder that was op'd 2010 autumn has been giving me some real difficulties. And when you are right handed with a problem in your right hand, it can make things difficult.


So start no 8 is Maria Diaz's amazing Poppy, from Cross Stitcher 204. Stitching it on cotton, not stitching material but with countable threads with DMC.

No9 is Lizzi Kate's Follow your heart, thank you Niina, :)

Thanks to Maija my stash went recently crazy... And my list of crazies too =)

Pari sanaa suomeksi, hassutusten kanssa on käynyt hassusti, kiukuttelava olka ei oikein anna tehdä paljoa. Koko nainen on ihan jumissa suoraan sanottuna. Nutrauksessa lähti käyntiin kolmas viikko, farkut tippuvat ja olen koko ajan tyytyväisempi itseeni. Paljon on kuitenkin vielä tehtävää!!
