Welcome

Yes, welcome back to my blog. Like my yesterday's posting said: miracles happen. I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting anything here lately. Just lost totally my interest in stitching and lot of things kept happening IRL.
Slowly but surely I'm back to my very dear hobby and to you all lovely blogging, crafting friends.
Lots of my latest crafts have been small and easy ones, mainly by Lizzie Kate, just to give me a slow start =)
Few of my finishes are from Crazies, so I'm still hanging on the challenge.

I got the subscription of WOCS as Christmas present and one of the finishes is from WOCS, issue 188. Little freebie, Home Sweet Home designed by one of my favs Joan Elliott. It hangs on my door now. All the mats used on it are from freebie package.

This lovely piece from Lizzie Kate was something that I had wanted to stitch for some time. Suitable welcome sign for a dog person. Stitched on evenweave with DMC threads.

Kiitokset ihanat blogi ystäväni kauniista sanoistanne! Kuten näkyy, neula on kyllä alkanut viuhua, joten yritän nyt päivitellä ainakin käsitöitäni tänne. Neiti koira voi hyvin, harkitsen barffausta ja odotan innolla uutta Oster trimmeria, jotta voin aloittaa neidin trimmauksen itse. Neiti näyttää tällä hetkellä kaikkea muuta paitsi neidiltä, kuten omistajansakin, vähän on resuunnuttu :P

Few new beginnings

Thank you all for your lovely comments! And hope you are all doing well. Here we are having lots of snow and around -10C. So winter has really arrived :)
Have had few new beginnings on my crazies. I know it is a bit late but I guess better later than never.

First the blue kitchen clock, a design by Joan Elliott. The design was in a leaflet that came years ago with Cross Stitch Quick and Easy called 101 Best ever Christmas gift charts. I was looking at it last year and really wanted to do the clock but the design was a bit unclear, so I contacted Joan Elliott via email and got the design from her!! Lucky me :)
And as many of you know I'm not a huge fan of blue so the finished piece will probably go somewhere else. But just loved the design and wanted to do it!

Another new start is a DMC kit that I recently received from my very good blogging friend Maija (kiitokset taas sinulle <3). The colors of this kit are sort of cold side but yet I do like them as they remind me of the really old samplers. I might be doing another sampler later this year also.
This Traditional Sampler stitches very fast and in my opinion is nothing but the described advanced, it should be classified as moderate if not even easy.

I have also started to stitch a Margaret Sherry design. I'm stitching it on piece of aida I dyed myself recently. It is a cow with balloon. The picture is sideways and there are very few stitches on it, well it is not a huge design either, =)

What a lovely way to start a week!!

Tänään sain vihjepostia syksyiseltä ristipistovaihto ystävältäni. Käsinkirjoitettu kirje, puinen sydän ja aivan mahdottoman ihanaa lankaa!!! Lanka on Dinky Dyesin Desert Sands, jotenkin niin juuri tämän minun syksyni värinen, mistä osasitkin ystäväni noin hyvin valita.
Vinkkien perusteella saattaisin kuvitella olevani saamassa jotain misää on sydän tai puu tai jopa molempia... Joka tapauksessa jo pelkkä vinkki oli IHANA!!!

I'm taking part in a cross stitch exchange and today I received first hint from my secret partner. Such lovely silks from Dinky Dyes, color Desert Sands. The color really hit me, it's somehow exactly the color to describe this autumn to me. So my secret friend must really clever!
What I shall have as an autumn gift is mystery but I suspect it has something to do with either hearts or trees/wood or both.... Let's see what the autumn will bring with it!

Viikonloppuna ostin kehyksiä ja tänään testasin miltä yksi jo kauan sopivia kehyksiä odottanut työ näyttäisi. Tämä on siis kokeilu, sillä minun pitää vielää ostaa oikeankokoinen ja värinen passe.
Malli on Joan Elliotin, ja alunperin kyseessä oli enkeli, mutta minusta se näytti enemmän Lumikuningattarelta, joten siivet jätin pois.

I bought some frames at weekend. And one piece of work has been waiting frames for a long time. This is just an experiment, I will have to find correct color and size passepartout for it.
The design is Joan Elliott one. It was supposed to be angel with wings but for me it looked more like The Snowqueen so I left the wings out.

Pinkki kukka

Eilen aloitin pistelemään Murun äidille äitienpäiväkorttia. Aiheena on pinkki kukka, jonka löysin DMC:n sivuilta. Kyseessä on DMC:n ilmaismalli rintasyöpä-kamppanjaan. Malli löytyy täältä . Tässä vielä keskeneräinen kukka, vailla niin rakastamiani jälkipistoja!! Huomaa tekeleessä näkyvä pinkki rusetti, joka saatuaan ääriviivat tuleekin olemaan perhonen.

Lukunuttu odottaa vielä toisen hihan kiinniompelua. En ole vielä aivan varma laitanko siihen napit vai ei.
Nutun ohjeen löysin täältä Garnstudion sivuilta ja sovelsin sitä Novitan Rose mohair-langalle sopivaksi.

Viime postauksessani kerroin Joan Elliottin suunnittelemasta ristipistokellosta. Sen ohje löytyy tästä lehtisestä.

Tänään sain yllättävää postia. Iso kirje ja ihan Amerikasta asti!!
