Finishes

I finally got my MSCSG April SAL finished. Didn't want to wait anymore ( me impatient??) for the buttons to arrive since I found out that I had suitable millefiori glass beads that were oval = egg shaped!! I also made the design as my very first flatfold. Bought sometime ago kind of old-fashioned easter themed fabric and other that suited for this work.

 


Yesterday evening I also got finally finished one of my longtime WIPs the other of two Geishas. As I'm not at home  right now won't state the designer or where I got the design from. I'll add that info later. If I remember correct it is from Cross Stitch Gold and its either Joan Elliott or Lesley Teare design. I don't know why I hate so muck backstitches and they usually make my WIPs to UFOs....

This weekend I'll be doing some knitting and crocheting. And will forget stitching for few days! :)

Easter finishes, or at least almost

Finally my SAL bunny is about finished, it's only lacking eggs. And eggs I've ordered from USA as buttons. I'll wait until next Tue or so, if they haven't arrived I'll stitch some eggs to add the final point. The design is from Margaret Sherry and it was published in Quick and Easy #103. I stitched it on yellow 14 count aida. And for some reason I didn't get so frustrated with the backstitches!! Instead of French knots I attached beads in her eyes to give some extra sparkle.

The pink bunny is also lacking some finishes from the same order. The free design for it can be found on  Echevette's blog. It's really worth to take a peek at her blog and the list of free designs. The picture of pink bunny can be found on my previous post.

I also finished yesterday finally one of my many many year UFO's, The Easter tablerunner. I don't even understand why it ended up as a UFO as it wasn't hard to stitch at all. No fractionals and very very few backstitches.

I've also stitched few eggs with the design I found from the blog of Liselotte. All three have been stitched with DMC color variations thread. But I used the thread a bit differently to each of them, so the end result looks different.

At the end two small eggs which I'll probably glue on cardboard and make them hang on some birch branches with other decorative eggs.

Barbille paita ja SAL:n edistymistä

Matleenan Lankapirtin blogissa näin ihania mekkoja barbille neulottuna. Siitä innostuneena päätin itse yrittää neuloa edes jotain pientä barbikivaa. Niinpä syntyi jämälangasta villapusero.

Novitan Nallen langan jämät on jääneet joskus viime syksynä, kun neuloin itselleni nämä unisukat. Kuva otettu jo käytössä olleista ja pesussakin käyneistä sukista.

SAL-pistelyni ei ole paljoa edennyt, kun huomasin että lankavarastostani puuttuu pupua varten paria eri ruskeaa ja yhtä sinistä. Mutta näin pitkälle olen päässyt. Vaikka itse sanonkin, tulee tuosta pupusta ihanan keväisen nätti.

Echevetten ohjeella tehty vaaleanpunainen jänis alkaa sekin edistyä, joskin alkaa olemaan taas runsauden pula näiden töiden kanssa.

Tarkoitus olisi tehdä molemmista pupuista pääsiäisaiheiset flatfoldit. Katsotaan nyt miten aika riittää!! :)

Eilinen päivä meni Helsingissä. Olin Lahtelaisen Pihlaja-kuoron mukana Venäläisiä tapaamisia- tapahtumassa. Päivä oli minulle varsinainen venäjän kielikylpy, mutta hauskaa oli. Siltä reissulta tuli taas lisää ideoita.... Tässä muutama kuva tapahtuman esiintyjistä.

Tässä kuvassa Lahden Pihlaja-kuoro esiintymässä. Kuoro sai raikuvat aplodit ja yleisö olisi halunnut heidän uudestaan lavalle.

Neiti Koira ei edelleenkään vaikuta kovin tyytyväiseltä uuteen turkkiinsa, vaikka vauhtia riittääkin entistä enemmän. Nyt sentään antoi jo hieman kuvata itseään.
